BIOGRAPHY

The Rebirth of “The Gates” came from The Mighty Pearly Gates which originated over 70 years ago in the Tidewater, Virginia area. The Mighty Pearly Gates were known for such songs as “Help Somebody Else” and “Holding On.” In 2003, the word “New” was added to the name to show not just the reformation, but the rebirth of a generation of gospel music. “The New Pearly Gates” began to grow not only in members but also in spirit. We have ministered on many platforms with some of greatest gospels groups known to man such as “Lee Williams and the Spiritual QCs, The Canton Spiritual, Darrell McFadden and the Disciples, George Dean and the Gospel Four, Doc McKenzie and the Highlights, The Sensational Nightingales, as well as, many other national and local recording artists.

In 2012, The New Pearly Gates has traveled all across the country and gained many outstanding accomplishments along the way. In March 2012, we traveled to Olive Branch, Mississippi to minister at the Esther Wooten Gospel Extravaganza where there was over 6, 000 people attendance. On that same stage we performed with Tim Rogers and the Fellas, Doc McKenzie and the Highlights, Spencer Taylor and the Highway QC'S and many other national acts to follow.

The New Peary Gates also traveled to Jacksonville, Florida to be a part of the National award show The Rhythm of Gospel Awards and during this amazing ride they then went to Columbia SC. and became the 2012 Regional Winner in the Allstate Super Gospel Fest. On August 2012, we were invited to minister at New Life Fellowship Church where the Founder is Pastor John P. Kee. We the New Pearly Gates stand on this statement “It’s not about us, it’s all about God”.
